GEORGE stops someone on the sidewalk.
He has been trying to get someone’s attention for a while.
He is lost.
GEORGE
Excuse me, excuse me.
Hi. Hi.
Thank you so much for stopping.
I’ve been trying to get someone to help me for like – I don’t even know how long and everyone in this city is just –
They keep moving –
So fast –
And ignoring me –
Or giving me looks and –
Well –
Anways –
Sorry, you must be busy.
I’m lost.
Very lost.
And I don’t know where to go.
(Which I guess is the definition of lost…)
And yeah, I was hoping you could me figure out how to get to –
Ummm…
Let me just check my –
The Red Lane Theatre?
I’m supposed to be watching a performance of a…
Thing.
I’m not sure if it’s a play.
You’d think right?
It’s more of a…
I guess she called it a “movement?”
Maybe a performance?
Maybe art?
Performance art?
I don’t know.
I couldn’t tell.
It’s all really…
Sorry, I don’t mean to sound judgy.
I’m more confused.
And I’m trying to –
Well, I’m in love with this guy and he’s performing in it.
The movement.
And he wrote it.
Or created it.
Devised it?
He used the word devised.
And I’m trying to support him.
Because I’m in love with him.
And he doesn’t know I’m in love with.
And I’m hoping if I go to support him in this “movement” thing that he “devised” that he will know that I love him and he will see how much I support him no matter what “crazy” thing he does and he will see that he “loves” me too.
…
…
I don’t know why I put quotes on the word “crazy” and “loves”….
I hope he loves me.
And I hope that love doesn’t have quotation marks but is like…
I don’t know.
Love with an exclamation point.
Legit.
You know?
Sorry. Sorry.
I’m rambling.
Anyways.
DO you know how to get there?
No.
Oh.
Ok.
Are you sure?
Really?
…
Promise?
Ok.
Ok… Ok…
That’s too bad.
Thanks anyway.
…
…
“Thanks.”
I don’t know why I did that.
END.
